Conserving Lake Tahoe for future generations requires the collaboration and dedication of more than 50 organizations. The EIP established a culture of cooperation and mutual support essential to streamlining implementation of environmental restoration initiatives. While progress over the last 10 years has been significant, recent science shows more must be done to stop environmental degradation and to reach ecosystem restoration goals.

  • The EIPwas created following the 1997 Lake Tahoe Presidential Forum
  • 266 EIP capital projects have been constructed and many more are in the planning stages
  • The mext phase of the EIP will have a planning horizon thrugh 2017.

EIP Research/Monitoring and Technical Assistance:

  • Funded up to $48 million in research and monitoring projects
  • Established the Tahoe Science Consortium to better inform agency decision-making
  • Federal agencies have provided nearly $15.5 million in technical assistance to EIP partners.
